> Did you know that PBIS sells ice cream every other Friday throughout the year?
> And, did you know that all proceeds of these sales go directly to the PBIS fund which works to encourage and reward positive behavior throughout the school?
So, when you send in $1 for ice cream, you're not just getting a sweet treat for your child. You're helping to fund an important program in our school which does some pretty amazing things, and this Friday, August 16, is your first opportunity of the year to do so. Thanks for the support! #tgscottelementary #growtogether #PBIS

Don't forget that your students' summer reading logs are due one week from today, Friday, August 16, and these must be turned in to qualify for the sweet reward! Let's see how many summer readers we have! #tgscottelementary #growtogether #bearslovebooks #summerreading

Join us to celebrate the quadrennial Olympic games and deck out in Red, White, & Blue for USA Spirit Day on Friday, August 9! We hope to see everyone in the spirit tomorrow!

Parents, please remember that car riders will be dismissed early tomorrow and Friday in an attempt to alleviate traffic issues that sometimes occur during the beginning of the school year. Dismissal time will be 2:50 pm August 1 & 2 and then return to our normal 3:15 dismissal time beginning Monday, August 5. Thanks for your patience and flexibility. We are excited to see everyone tomorrow!

WoodmenLife® has for many years and in many ways sought, through its local chapters, to foster a patriotic attitude and a profound appreciation for the ideal that is America. In keeping with this effort, awards are presented each year in schools across the nation to the student selected as being the most proficient in the study of American History. On behalf of WoodmenLife Chapter 369, Mr. Sanders had the honor of presenting Rebecca Goode, Zylus Norwood, and Lydia Svensson the WoodmenLife award for Outstanding Proficiency in the study of American History. Congratulations, Rebecca, Zylus, and Lydia! And, special thanks to Glenda Davis for representing WoodmenLife - Georgia Central and supporting these rewards for TG Scott Honors Day 2024!

The Forsyth Boys and Girls Club will be closed beginning this Friday, 5.17, through the end of the year so alternate plans must be made for children who attend afterschool care there. Please remember that all transportation changes must be communicated to the school in writing.

As the forecast continues to call for constant rain throughout the next 36 hours, we have decided to go ahead and move Field Day for all grades inside. As with today, limited space prohibits extra people attending. Further details can be found in the email forthcoming to parents. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work to keep kids safe while still providing a fun field day experience.

Please join us for a presentation on
Technology -> Staying Safe Over the Summer
from Lori Oakes, TGS Computer/ Technology Teacher.
Tuesday, May 14 ~ 8:30 am or noon ~ TGS Data Room
If you are unable to attend either, the info will be linked in Bear Bytes on Wednesday afternoon.

One more update - we've switched things around and will be able to do both grades this morning inside so K will have Field Day today as planned, but it will be inside the gym (again, no parents can attend due to lack of adequate space). Thanks for your patience and flexibility!

Because the rain has already started, and the radar indicates that it will not stop anytime soon, Field Day plans must be amended. 1st grade will have Field Day inside this morning, and we will do our very best to reschedule Kindergarten for a date TBD. Again, parents will not be able to attend due to space constraints, and we sincerely apologize. Thank you for understanding. We will continue to monitor the forecast for tomorrow and keep 2nd and 3rd grade parents updated.

All current 5th grade parents, please remember that Transition Night will be at MCMS tomorrow night - Monday, May 13, beginning at 5:30. The event will provide a wealth of information and will last for approximately one hour. Please park in the back - hope to see you all there.

Due to the foreboding weather forecast for tomorrow, we are making rain contingency plans which involve moving all activities into the gym. At this time, we hope and fully intend to hold Field Day outside, but in the event of rain, one grade will have inside Field Day in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to space constraints, there will not be room for parents to attend as previously outlined. We sincerely apologize as we know this is disappointing for everyone. Please be assured that we will do everything we can to make the day fun and memorable for all the children while keeping safety our top priority. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. We will keep you posted.
