Graduation Coach


Mrs. McLuen is a 1998 graduate of Mary Persons High School.  She completed her BS in Psychology at Georgia College & State University and her Masters degree in Social Work from The University of Georgia.  Mrs. McLuen is a certified School Social Worker and a Licensed Master Social Worker.  


After completing her MSW in 2004, Mrs. McLuen spent several years working in Oconee County as a School Counselor, later transitioning into a Graduation Coach position.  After moving back to the middle Georgia area, Mrs. McLuen worked for Fresenius Medical Care as a Nephrology Social Worker for four years.  She was hired at MPHS in 2013 as the Graduation Coach.

Role of the Graduation Coach:

To identify and provide early intervention services to students at risk of dropping out or otherwise not graduating by:

• analyzing data to identify students at-risk of dropping out.

• implementing schoolwide support interventions.

• motivating students to focus on a graduation plan.

• offering academic advisement.

• providing direct student support and case management.

• developing effective transition programs.

• connecting parents and students with appropriate school and community resources.
